Makin’ GP-Friendly Green Juice

love making (and drinking!) juice. For many years after I was diagnosed with GP, I thought I couldn’t tolerate fresh juice. I kept trying and it kept making me feel bloated, gassy, and nauseous.

Eventually I realized that I was making some big mistakes. Too much juice, to start with, and made from too much high-sugar, high-FODMAP fruit. I made some changes and now juicing is part of my everyday routine. My body craves it. Some days it still “sticks with me” a little longer than I’d like, but overall it’s been an amazing, healthy addition to my comprehensive management plan and very helpful for boosting my nutrition during pregnancy.

In this video, I show you how I make GP-friendly green juice, start to finish, and give you some tips as we go along. If you want to learn more about juicing (and blending!) as part of a gastroparesis-friendly diet — including choosing a juicer/blender, knowing what to use in your juices and smoothies, what to stay away from, etc. — definitely join me on Wednesday night for GP-Friendly Juicing & Blending. I’m spending the weekend working on a nifty eBook to go along with the class — full of recipes and answers to your FAQs about juicing and blending with GP.

I love fresh juices, especially green juice. My body craves it also, I begin my day with a quart of fresh green juice. I’m so grateful to have found green juice and the benefits it has given me.

Hello – I am 41 years old and have been type 1 diabetic for 34 years. Over the past 3-4 months, I have had severe bloating when I eat. After many tests, the GI Dr. thought I may have GP. I go this week for a gastro empty test. For a long time I have always tried to incorporate lots of fiber, fruits and vegetables into my diet. Lately, a salad with vegetables makes me miserable. As much as I would love to be sad and sit around feeling bad for myself, I know that I need to be proactive. While looking up various things about GP, I found your blog. It’s nice to know that other people are willing to put their knowledge to good use and share with everyone. I have many questions about Juicing regarding my diabetes. Once there is a definate diagnosis of GP, I will need to find a good diet that is workable for my lifestyle. Thank you for the video on juicing.
