Gastroparesis A”Wear”Ness
Each week, I get emails and Facebook messages from gastroparesis patients who had been struggling in silence, thinking they were the only ones dealing with this difficult disease. Unfortunately, of the 5 million Americans living with GP, only a fraction know that there’s support and information available to them beyond what they receive in the doctor’s office (which, as we all know, isn’t much).
With that in mind, I created the Living With Gastroparesis Shop, featuring gastroparesis-related apparel and accessories. It’s an easy way for us to reach out and help others who may think that they’re all alone…without even saying a word. It’s also a way to raise public awareness, inviting questions about the curious-looking word. I happen to think the stuff is pretty cute, too.
There are several designs to choose from, all of which can be applied to a variety of products — t-shirts, sweatshirts, bags, hats, children’s clothing, coffee mugs, and more. I ordered a bunch of bumper stickers for my family, a cozy new hoodie for myself (just in time for the cooler weather!), and a teddy bear for my poor little 18-month-old cousin who was just diagnosed with GP last week.
I’ll post pics of everything when it arrives. Here I am modeling my awesome new sweatshirt, which arrived about 5 days after I placed my order. Check out some of the other products/designs below. If you order anything for yourself, please send me a pic!
UPDATE: There are now two G-PACT designs available, as well. All proceeds go to G-PACT!

Everything looks really cute
I’ll totally be placing an order once my funds start to even out (I work to buy meds and Boost, lol).
It breaks my heart to know that there are other people out there that have to deal with DTP like me, some a lot worse than me too…but when I think of how there are kids out there with this, my heart goes into pieces.
So sorry to hear about your cousin
I’m 28 and have an extremely hard time keeping myself strong enough to deal with this mentally…how do you do it as a child?
I love the designs. I will be ordering soon.
Love the designs! I’m about to order the same hoodie you’re wearing in the picture.
I like the Gastroparesis Chick shirt but I want it in a hoodie. I told my mom thats what I want for Christmas. Plus, Chickie is my nickname lol.
love the designs. I wish I could do one of everything
Hey, Megan (a.k.a. Chickie) — how perfect that shirt would be for you! I don’t know why they don’t have a non-zip women’s hoodie. I had to order my design on the men’s hoodie and even the small is still kind of big on me. It’s super cozy, though
Tina, let me know what you think when it arrives!
My package came today and I LOVE everything!!!! The hoodie is so warm, soft and comfy. I’m 5’5 115 and the Small is roomy but perfect to wear over a tee shirt, turtleneck, or sweater. I have autonomic neuropathy and my previous hoodie was the zipper kind; sitting caused it to bunch on my upper gut and hurt. This is smooth and so gentle on my stomach.
I also bought a black long sleeve tee with the sparrow logo that says CURE GASTROPARESIS. It’s fantastic and very stylish, and tailored for a woman’s body. And lastly I bought the messenger bag with the Gastroparesis Friendly logo, and it is perfect on the back of my wheelchair. It’s roomy enough for my medical reports binder, pain therapy workbook, journal, art supplies, and insulated lunch bag that holds my Enlive and yogurt. I love that it features your web URL so passerbys who may be intrigued can look it up.
I feel great spreading GP awareness, and I look great too lol! I will be posting pics on my FB profile for all my GP sisters to see.
Tina, I’m SO glad you like everything! Can’t wait to see the pictures!
