FAQ: The “Living Well with Gastroparesis” Program Edition
Since I announced that I’m offering another round of the Living (Well!) with Gastroparesis Group Program (see the video above), I’ve received some great questions from interested GPers. Read on for my answers…
Anyone out there contemplating the classes….. sign up! I have battled GP for years now and thought I knew it pretty well, but I have learned so much from these classes! It has been worth every penny. ~Kandra
Question: What exactly is this program?
The Living (Well!) with Gastroparesis Group Program is a comprehensive course in which you’ll learn how to decrease gastroparesis symptoms, implement a personal comprehensive management plan, and improve your overall quality of life. Over the course of 12-weeks we’ll address all of the physical, emotional, and social challenges of life after a GP diagnosis. Audio classes are combined with the support of an empowering, uplifting community. There is truly nothing else like this for GPers!
Question: What does the program include?
As a group participant you’ll receive…
- Twelve 30-60 minute mp3 core classes, each covering a different aspect of living with gastroparesis.
- Handouts, worksheets, articles, and other relevant materials to go along with each class.
- Bonus mini-classes, including topics like self-care, navigating multiple food restrictions, and understanding FODMAPs.
- A private Facebook group to ask questions, expand on what you’ve learned in the classes, share what’s working for you, and get support from me and other positive, proactive GPers.
- Six live “office hours” sessions via telephone. Call in and ask me your questions about the class material or just listen to others’ questions.
- A paperback copy of Living (Well!) with Gastroparesis.
- Access to the Gastroparesis-Friendly Juicing & Blending video class and eBook.
- Access to the Brighter Side of Eating for Gastroparesis video class and recipes.
Question: What will I get out of the program?
Knowledge that will empower you to better manage your symptoms and improve your quality of life. Peace of mind from better understanding the condition and knowing that you’re not alone in what you’re feeling and experiencing. Encouragement that you can learn to live well with gastroparesis. Answers to your questions. Support from others who truly understand what you’re going through.
Question: How long will I have access to the classes and other materials?
Once you download the classes and handouts, they’re yours indefinitely! Go back and review them as many times as you’d like for as long as you’d like. If the program is offered again at any point in the future, you’ll be invited to join the Facebook group/forum and live calls.
Question: What do previous participants have to say about the program?
I’ll let them answer that! In their own words…
This program was the best money I have ever spent. I really learned ways to mentally and physically live well with gastroparesis.
I’ve seen a number of doctors and two nutritionists and, other than writing scripts, the info and advice I’ve received from [this program] has been of far greater benefit.
Well worth the investment!
I am greatly benefiting from the classes. [This program] has given me hope.
The program is extremely helpful because there really is no where in the country that we could get all the knowledge and the information that you are teaching us about living with gastroparesis.
This changed my life.
This program was exceptional. A wealth of information was provided and the benefit was beyond my expectations.
Question: I’ve had GP for a few years. Is this program for me?
Yes! The program is designed for new and experienced GPers alike. This is information that I’ve gathered from years of talking with specialists and researchers, working with hundreds of other GPers, studying nutrition and health, and learning to live WELL with GP myself. (Honestly, after eight years with gastroparesis, I still learn new things — and share them, of course!). Again, in the words of a past participant: “I was a little apprehensive since I wasn’t a newbie, but I have gotten so much out of [it]!”
Question: My schedule is busy/unpredictable and/or I don’t live in the United States. Can I still participate?
Yes! All classes are delivered via email in mp3 format — you listen whenever and wherever it’s convenient for you. The Facebook group is “open” 24/7 for you to share your thoughts, questions, and comments and the phone calls will be recorded if you cannot listen live.
Question: I really want to join, but I don’t have all of the money right now. Can I do a payment plan?
Yep! This is an investment in your health and quality of life, and I want to make it as easy for you to participate as possible. I’ve set up monthly and weekly payment options. The payments are made automatically, so there’s nothing to keep track of after you register.
Get more information here or register now by choosing a payment option below.

Hi!! Just wanted to say I am so happy i found this blog! I was diagnosed almost 3 years ago when I was 21. I have been dealing with it pretty reasonably, thankfully most days i feel alright but then those bad days come once in a while when i definatley need a bit more support and positivity and i think this blog will be just the place! I am just about to buy the digital version of Eating for GP and I am in the process of finding an accupuncturist and see if accupuncture helps (all thanks to your video blog, though i have been thinking about it for a while). I am in Melbourne (Australia) and wondering if you are aware of any of your FB followers being from over here. Thank you and looking forward you your future blogs!
Hi, Adriana. Welcome! Glad you found us
There are a few GPers from Australia here. Have you checked out my Facebook page? http://www.Facebook.com/LivingWithGastroparesis You might find them more easily over there!
Hi. So happy to have found this website. My husband has GP and is miserable. He is also a doctor but cannot seperate his pain from common sense medical knowledge. Looking forward to reading your book.
My insurance company will pay only if supplier bills using a “Billing Code”.
Do you bill insurance with correct code?
Thanks much,
Steve
Hi, Steve. Unfortunately I’m not able to bill the insurance company directly, but others have found that they can get reimbursed for the program through flexible spending with a letter of medical necessity from their doctor. Hope that helps!
